Gift & Loyalty Card Programs
We are all familiar with gift cards, a plastic card with a magnetic stripe on the back, often embossed with a store logo. You can buy them in either pre-set amounts or load any amount you wish.
A loyalty card is also a plastic magnetically encoded card, designed to record a customer's purchase history, usually to qualify them for a free item or discount after a set number or amount of purchases. "Buy 5 car washes and get your next one free!"

The little-known fact is that gift cards are money-makers because, on average, 30% of loaded value is never redeemed, although you, the merchant, have already gotten paid up front. So that is money in your pocket! Additionally, gift cards bring in customers who may otherwise never have come in, because they received a card as a gift.
